5 more DMC-40's in the works.
From left to right: Black Walnut, Paduak, Roasted Walnut, Black Walnut, and Purpleheart. The dovetails are complete, and test fitted. Time to cut the slots in the bottoms that allow nearly any 40" digital TV to fit (except for Samsung).
It's currently 4 degrees outside, so the garage is pretty cold! Yes it's true, I currently work in an unheated garage. It's not glamorous, but I get the job done.
Uncle Bacon's Rock and Roll finish
I've watched the Youtube videos showing how to use ink instead of stain on wood. And while I am not a big fan of stain, this was a whole new ballgame. I knew I wanted to try it, and I knew exactly what I wanted. I have an old Ibanez bass guitar in a beat up old case up in the upstairs closet. That guitar has a lot of stories to tell. So in seemed fitting to me to recreate that guitar's sunburst finish on the DMC-40, since it would help someone else tell their stories.
